FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Born and raised in Baton Rouge, La. , an Alumna of McKinley Sr. High School, She has studied Dance in numerous areas, (Including New York, NY. , Dallas, Tx. , Rustin, La., Shreveport, La., and Baton Rouge, La.) at various schools( Dallas Black Dance Theater, Grambling State University, Tari's School of Dance, Cangelosi's Dance Project, McKinley Sr. High Dance Ensemble etc..) With a late start, she has worked tirelessly to attain her goal of becoming a professionally trained Dancer, instructor, and performer. As years progressed into her professional career of dancing, she has found a passion for the modern/contemporary, lyrical, and ballet styles of dance. Since being introduced to the industry of the Arts, Shamira has done work with different companies in the country. Just recently performing as a back-up dancer for the annual Essence Festival in New Orleans, La behind the amazing Wendy Raquel Robinson, and Tisha Martin Campbell. Shamira is currently the owner of For The love of Dance Studios, which is a community-based dance studio. She is also the founder and executive director of her 501c3 non-profit dance organization that dances to support a different cause annually. Causes include but are not limited to domestic violence awareness, and breast cancer awareness. Her previous work includes teaching for the Celerity Schools program based out of Los Angeles, California, and producing a production entitled REMISSION. REMISSION was created in support of a now deceased cancer patient and her personal experience with having cancer, this project has donated more than $500 back into Louisiana's biggest cancer facility (Our Lady of The Lake Mary Bird Perkins). Shamira has an unquenchable desire to give back to the community all through the beauty of Dance; by raising awareness for many different statistics and situations.
